How long does a custom Firefox fork take?

We maintain a production-ready Firefox ESR base, so you don’t start from scratch. A working browser MVP with signed installer ships in 8–12 weeks. A fixed quote is delivered at the end of a two-week discovery phase.

Can you build on top of Firefox ESR or Thunderbird instead of mainline Firefox?

Yes. We can fork from Firefox ESR for stability, mainline Firefox for the latest features, or other Gecko-based codebases depending on your product requirements. The base decision is made in week one of discovery and written into the contract.

How do you handle upstream Firefox updates and security patches?

We rebase your patches onto new Firefox ESR and rapid releases on a defined cadence. Security-only backports are handled on your behalf. Without a sync plan, a browser falls behind on security in six months — we plan for this from day one.

What platforms do you build for — Windows, macOS, Linux?

We ship for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS. All builds include signed and notarized installers — MSIX/MSI for Windows, DMG/PKG for macOS, .deb/.rpm/Flatpak for Linux, APK/AAB for Android (GeckoView), and IPA for iOS.

Can you add anti-fingerprinting, a custom WebExtension, or de-telemetry?

Yes. We’ve shipped Resist Fingerprinting (RFP) hardening, custom WebExtensions and bundled add-ons, and full telemetry removal at the build level. These are scoped in the architecture phase and budgeted before development begins.

How do you handle code signing and auto-updates?

Code signing and the Mozilla AUS-style auto-update channel are scoped at week one — not bolted on after launch. We handle Windows Authenticode/EV certs, Apple Developer ID notarization, GPG-signed repos for Linux, and signed MAR update packages with rollback support.
