The Client wanted to develop a solution that would let a retailer or distributor analyze consumers' behavioral patterns, plan merchandising activities more effectively, and assess the work of sales personnel — ultimately driving sales and profit growth.

A Computer-Vision System for Tracking Shoppers, Staff, and Shelves

INNERLUXES created an innovative computer-vision solution for retail, made up of the following components:

  • Camera software for image capture, camera setup and calibration, and camera status monitoring.
  • People tracking module that tracks store staff and customers using fish-eye cameras.
  • Shelf tracking module that tracks hand movements at the shelves.
  • Fridge tracking module that tracks hand movement when customers interact with glass-door fridges.
  • Analytics portal (built with Silverlight) as the single access point for all gathered data and analytics.
