The Client is a US-based university with thousands of scholars enrolled in on-campus degree programs and thousands more who rely on its online offerings exclusively, receiving the institution's academic, clinical, and advanced research programs through online collateral.

Several years earlier, the Client had developed a database-form Computer Learning Program (CLP). Although this solution served as a satisfactory starting point for the university's online presence, it lacked the scalability required to outfit the growing student body. The legacy CLP was plagued by rudimentary features and lacked customization. After coming to terms with the limitations of its current software, the Client engaged INNERLUXES to build a more intelligent CLP — an architecture that would adapt to the ever-changing educational climate.

To bring the vision to fruition, INNERLUXES engineers designed a comprehensive project plan for a new web-based solution that incorporated all the features the legacy CLP failed to address. The application would include a full business life cycle to cover the diverse demands of college curriculums and training programs — translating into a course-material repository that students could access when enrolling or taking evaluations.

From the administration perspective, the application granted access to a series of modules through which admins could manage course-related materials, enrollment details, courses offered, student information, test results, and other preliminary details. INNERLUXES collaborated with the Client to carry out the project plan, implementing current technologies to minimize future maintenance. Special attention was given to ensuring the platform not only addressed current needs but was scalable and flexible enough to support future enhancements.

The Solution

The application featured a separate module for easy management of course details and gave course administrators the ability to publish this information online. A reporting module allowed course administrators to generate various reports according to their needs. Students could access the online platform to complete course registration and online tests, retrieve scores and credit details, manage enrollment, and even make payments.
