A robust cross-platform plug-in leveraging the PayFabric API, seamlessly integrated with Oracle Commerce Cloud. The solution meets stringent international security standards while providing a seamless user experience for online sales operations across diverse payment gateways.
The Challenge
The Client — a payment gateway company — needed a secure, robust, and scalable cross-platform plug-in that would allow financial transactions using Oracle's cloud-based eCommerce solutions across a variety of platforms, devices, and political and economic jurisdictions worldwide, ensuring seamless functionality across different operating and hardware systems. To be fully interconnected, the platform needed to leverage an API for smooth data transfers with databases operated by various third-party companies, each with its own protocols. The goal was a plug-in that could meet these requirements at the highest security level while operating in the background of everyday transactions.
The Project
After an initial discovery meeting with the Client, INNERLUXES outlined the specific requirements and created a complete scope of work. INNERLUXES built a secure testing environment using JavaScript and Node.js, strictly following the Google JavaScript Code Conventions. A siloed staging environment was used first so the plug-in could be tested in a secure, controlled setting; then, to test under real-world conditions, INNERLUXES deployed the staging environment to Oracle Commerce Cloud.
The objective was a plug-in that works globally and across a large variety of payment gateways with different, extensive protocols and databases. The plug-in had to adhere to international financial security standards — including PCI DSS, ISO/IEC 27001, GDPR, and CCPA — and work within the Oracle Commerce Cloud system to enable secure, seamless online sales, including payment authorizations and fraud detection, while adhering to international standards and local laws and codes.
The Result
INNERLUXES created a plug-in that leverages the PayFabric API to operate inside the Oracle Commerce Cloud platform and process transactions — including the transmission of payment data to and from credit card or banking information. The plug-in ensures transactions complete securely and instantly while running in the background for eCommerce sites. PayFabric acts as a "bridge" that connects the Oracle Commerce Cloud platform with payment processing systems. The plug-in met or exceeded all international standards while providing a seamless user experience and a secure environment for eCommerce.
