Summary

INNERLUXES needed an innovative integration solution for its own organization to resolve low integration between departments, weak communication within project teams, and the absence of a corporate knowledge base. Building an enterprise portal on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, INNERLUXES united all of its business processes into a single platform — speeding up internal processes and raising the quality of delivered services.

About the Company

INNERLUXES is an international IT company and an expert in the design, development, and delivery of custom software solutions, IT consulting, and IT outsourcing services, serving a broad international client base across many countries.

The Challenge

The Company needed an innovative integration solution that could resolve some recently faced obstacles, such as low integration between departments, lack of communication within project teams, and the absence of a corporate knowledge base.

The main reason was the nature of the modern IT business, which requires a company to be proactive and constantly search for more effective and innovative solutions. It is crucially important to provide quicker responses and decisions, collaborate closely with customers, and deliver high-quality solutions.

The Solution

The flexible Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) platform was chosen to integrate all of the company's business processes into one enterprise portal. The portal — an internal Business Operation System — was widely promoted across the company.

For each project, a workspace was organized within the portal, integrating all project activities. To support the most important business processes (RFP processing, hiring and training of new specialists, various reporting, and more), workflows were created within the portal. Together these components provided correlation and accessibility of information between departments — top management, marketing, and sales personnel can quickly find the reports and plans they need for different projects, with predefined access to the required information. Domain security settings ensured controlled access to private project information.

To organize the corporate knowledge base, a Library, wiki, and blogs were created on the portal. Other administration concerns — such as time tracking, corporate news, and a technical-support help desk — were integrated into the portal as well.

The Results

  • Important business processes ran faster.
  • The quality of delivered services rose.
  • Annual quality-management audits were performed quickly and easily thanks to optimized document storage and process management.
  • Corporate standards, processes, procedures, templates, and style were integrated at all corporate levels.
