Summary

A Belgian media production services company was building a generic media asset management (DAM) system and needed an information-management solution for an automotive-brand end customer. The solution had to let the end customer's employees create content and upload, download, and delete personal files stored on an FTP server via the HTTP protocol, through a user-friendly Flex-based interface. INNERLUXES developed the Web File Sharing module for the DAM platform.

About the Client

The Client is a Belgian media production services company working on a generic media asset management system. The end customer is an automotive brand.

The Challenge

The Client needed to develop an information-management solution for the end customer that would enable its employees to create content and upload, download, and delete personal files located on an FTP server via the HTTP protocol, using a user-friendly Flex-based interface.

The Solution

The Client chose INNERLUXES as an outsourcing partner to develop a Web File Sharing module for its digital asset management (DAM) platform. INNERLUXES designed the solution's business logic, delivered the web-service and web-client applications, and performed extensive testing.

The Web File Sharing module had to act as a transparent layer on top of the existing FTP server — enabling users to log on to the FTP server without entering access credentials and to upload and download files over an HTTP connection without using the FTP server directly. It was specifically designed for transferring small and medium-size files (up to 50 MB). The module had to be incorporated into the existing framework application, and could be accessed from the home page or the administration panel, or work in a standalone mode.

The Results

  • The joint work of the Client's and INNERLUXES's teams resulted in the successful delivery and integration of a Web File Sharing application.
