Personal Task Management Mobile App Development

Summary
The team behind DLY wanted to turn the Getting Things Done (GTD) productivity method into native mobile apps but lacked in-house mobile development capacity. INNERLUXES built the DLY task manager apps from scratch — tasks, habits, backlog, and analytics — organized around GTD's core principles and integrated with Google Workspace so users' calendar, tasks, mail, and contacts stay in sync. The apps passed quality assurance and shipped to the stores.
About the Client
The Client is the ambitious team behind DLY — a daily planner and tracker driven to help people increase their productivity.
A Productivity Idea Without the Mobile Capacity to Build It
Inspired by the Getting Things Done (GTD) time management method, the Client wanted to give the philosophy the form of iOS and Android apps but lacked the mobile app development competencies to do so. They needed a partner to design and build both apps and connect them to the productivity tools their users already relied on.
Native iOS and Android Apps Modeled on GTD and Tied to Google Workspace
Working in an agile process, INNERLUXES's mobile development teams implemented the Android and iOS task manager apps from scratch and integrated them with Google Workspace (formerly G Suite). The app lets users keep their daily agenda in one place, clearing task-related information out of their heads exactly as the GTD method suggests. The interface itself follows GTD's major principles, and Google features were consolidated so users never have to leave the app:
- Collect — captures all entries of as-yet unplanned tasks and goals.
- Plan — holds tasks that have already been organized.
- Do — presents the day's activities in a convenient timetable; each meeting links the participants' Google accounts and shows the meeting location on a map.
- Completed — finished activities move here automatically when scheduled, or manually when they were not.
- Continuous Google Workspace sync — the app regularly synchronizes user data stored in Google Workspace, so a change made to Google Calendar outside the app appears inside the app as well.
Two Published Apps That Realized the Client's Vision
- Once the apps passed INNERLUXES's quality assurance, they were presented to the Client, who was fully satisfied with how their idea had been implemented.
- Both app versions are available on Google Play and the App Store.
- Google Workspace integration keeps each user's calendar, tasks, mail, and contacts consistent across the app and their Google account.
