Saviynt Integration for Streamlined User Data Management
Project Solution
To unify existing systems into a single application, INNERLUXES leveraged Saviynt and various APIs to organize and use user data. The Client is an IT services provider whose goal is to help its customers use and manage their cloud services safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
INNERLUXES was tasked with repairing and developing assets to import user accounts from Workday and ServiceNow into Saviynt. The Client also wanted to establish an ongoing relationship for future integrations with other applications in Saviynt. At a granular level, the engagement improved the Client's access management and identity governance by addressing existing bugs, establishing new integrations, developing attribute mapping, and preparing for future integration. As a result, the new system provides easier account management, improved connectivity, and scalability.
Tools and Application
- Saviynt: the most fundamental tool for the integration goals, managing access, user identities, and compliance.
- Workday Connector: a Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) API that fetches user data from one system and seamlessly maps it into another.
- ServiceNow Connector: a Representational State Transfer (REST) API used to connect with ServiceNow and import user data into Saviynt.
- Saviynt Database: stores and manages the imported data.
- TFS (Team Foundation Server): manages code changes and supports collaborative development.
Together, these tools formed a robust ecosystem enabling productive integration and data management. Saviynt serves as the base for identity governance, allowing in-depth access control and user management. The system successfully imported data from Workday and ServiceNow into Saviynt using their respective connectors, and via JSON-based mapping enabled Create, Read, Update, Delete (CRUD) operations with accurate attribute mapping across user accounts — improving synergy and compatibility between systems. TFS served as a code organization and tracing tool, contributing to a unified identity governance solution.
Unified Enhancements for Customers and Employees
As the new system rolls out, the Client expects enhancements in efficiency and reductions in human error. Making user data from HR and IT systems accessible in a single application addresses the Client's immediate needs while positioning the system for future growth. Because CRUD operations and attribute mapping function smoothly, this automation reduces workload and costs over time while maintaining regulatory compliance in user-data handling. The solution streamlines customer and employee service and onboarding processes, leading to more reliable and quicker outcomes.
