Summary

A wholesale and logistics company handling a few hundred vendors and several thousand SKUs needed to centralize how it prepared documents for printing and distribution to its customers. INNERLUXES built a tailored StreamServe-based solution that stores invoices and other documents as PDFs, prepares daily output batches in AFP format, and groups them into addressed envelopes ready for mailing. The solution now processes around 2,500 pages, or roughly 1,200 document batches, every month.

About the Client

The Client is a wholesale and logistics company that offers a wide range of products and cost-effective logistics services, specializing in the supply of frozen foods and ice cream to retail and HoReCa, with revenue approaching 450 million euros in 2015.

Document Preparation Needed to Be Centralized

With a few hundred vendors and several thousand stock keeping units (SKUs) to store and dispatch to customers, the Client was looking for a solution that would enable centralized document processing for printing and onward distribution to recipients.

A StreamServe Solution for Repository, Batching, and Enveloping

The Client chose StreamServe technology as the basis for optimizing these processes, and INNERLUXES's specialists used it to build an end-to-end document pipeline:

  • PDF repository — a store for invoices and other documents in PDF format, holding the files that are to be sent to the Client's customers.
  • Daily AFP batching — the solution picks up these files from storage every day and prepares output document batches in AFP format for printing and sending to customers.
  • Envelope-ready formatting — functions to change page orientation, group files into envelopes according to recipients' addresses, and add an address page at the front of each envelope with address lines positioned to fit the envelope's window.

~2,500 Pages a Month, Centrally Processed

  • INNERLUXES delivered a tailored StreamServe-based solution to the Client.
  • The solution now ensures processing of about 2,500 pages, or roughly 1,200 document batches, per month for printing and distribution.
