About the Role

We're looking for an exceptional Chromium Browser Developer to join our engineering team. In this role, you'll work on building, customizing, and optimizing Chromium-based browsers and browser extensions for enterprise clients. You'll dive deep into the Chromium source code, implement custom features, resolve complex rendering and performance issues, and ship browser products that serve millions of users. Responsibilities

  • Build and customize Chromium-based browsers for enterprise and consumer use cases
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize browser extensions and plugins using Chrome APIs
  • Work with the Chromium source code (C++, Mojo IPC, Blink rendering engine)
  • Implement custom UI components, security policies, and browsing modes within the browser shell
  • Debug and resolve complex issues related to rendering, networking, and memory management
  • Integrate browser features with backend services via RESTful APIs and WebSockets
  • Write automated tests for browser components and extensions using Selenium, Puppeteer, and Playwright
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to define browser UX requirements
  • Stay up-to-date with Chromium release cycles and upstream patches

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience in browser development or Chromium-based projects
  • Strong proficiency in C++ and experience working with large-scale C++ codebases
  • Deep understanding of web standards (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Web APIs)
  • Experience with Chrome Extension APIs (Manifest V3) and browser internals
  • Familiarity with Chromium's multi-process architecture, Blink, and V8 engine
  • Experience with build systems like GN/Ninja for compiling Chromium from source
  • Strong debugging skills using tools like Chrome DevTools, gdb, and performance profilers
  • Experience with version control (Git) and code review workflows

Nice to Have

  • Contributions to the Chromium open-source project or related browser projects
  • Experience with Electron, CEF (Chromium Embedded Framework), or WebView2
  • Knowledge of WebRTC, WebAssembly, or Service Workers
  • Familiarity with browser security features (sandboxing, CSP, certificate pinning)
  • Experience building custom browser UIs using HTML/CSS/JS overlays
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for browser build and release automation
