How to Configure the Add-In
Getting Map Contacts up and running takes minutes. Click the gear icon in the title bar to open Settings — that’s your starting point for everything below.
1Pick your list
Select a list of users or organizations from the dropdown. Make sure the list has Text or plain-text Note fields that store address data — those are what get plotted.
2Map your fields
Select the right fields from your list that contain the address information. You control exactly what appears in each marker popup window on the map.
3Choose a theme
Pick one of 3 color themes to match your workspace or brand identity. This step is optional — the default theme looks great out of the box.
4Save your settings
Hit the Save button to lock in your configuration. Your choices persist across sessions — no need to reconfigure every time you open the add-in.
5Refresh and go
Click the Refresh link in the title bar to load your updated map. Your contacts are now pinned and ready to explore in Street View or Satellite mode.

What the Add-In Looks Like
Map Contacts renders a clean, interactive Google Map directly inside your SharePoint page — with every contact from your selected list pinned and clickable.
Each marker opens a popup window with the contact details you configured. Switch between Street View and Satellite mode with a single click. The layout adapts to your SharePoint page width, whether you’re on a full-width layout or a narrower web part zone.

Why Teams Love Map Contacts
Map Contacts isn’t just a map widget. It’s a purpose-built tool for SharePoint environments that transforms how your team sees and works with location data.
Zero manual plotting
Addresses from your SharePoint list go straight to the map — no copy-pasting, no CSV exports, no third-party tools. Just your data, pinned automatically.
Works inside SharePoint
Embed Map Contacts on any SharePoint page with no extra infrastructure. It reads from your existing lists — no new databases, no separate apps to manage.
Instant setup
Configure in under five minutes. Pick your list, select your address fields, choose a color theme, save — and your map is live. No developer time required.
Permission-aware
Only users with write access can modify which contacts appear. Read-only users see the map as configured — keeping your data governance intact.
Street View & Satellite
Toggle between Street View and Satellite mode to get the visual context you need — whether you’re navigating to a client site or verifying an address.
Bring your own API key
High-volume organizations can supply their own Google API key inside Settings. It applies globally — one configuration update covers every user in your tenant.
Map Contacts is one small piece of what INNERLUXES builds on SharePoint. When you are ready to go further, our team designs and runs the full estate — so location data, content, and collaboration all live in one connected workplace:
- Core builds: portals and intranets (including business and social variants).

- People and support workloads: HR management, learning management, and ticketing and help desk.

- Cloud footing on Microsoft Azure with Azure consulting, the advantages of Microsoft Azure, and Azure for small business.
Troubleshooting Map Contacts
Running into issues? Here are the most common fixes to get your map working properly.
No markers showing up?
Double-check your contact list. Addresses that are incomplete or formatted incorrectly won’t plot on the map. Ensure the fields you selected in Settings contain valid, complete address strings.
Only one marker visible?
The map may be over-zoomed and centering on a single point. Hit the Refresh link in the title bar and all markers will reappear at the correct zoom level automatically.
Dropdown list empty in Settings?
Head to Site Contents, click the three dots on the Map Contacts add-in, select Permissions, and re-trust the add-in using the Here link. This restores access to your SharePoint lists.
